Bruno Hunger Schrat are back. One of my favorites down here in Bavaria in south Germany. There could be a couple of more new songs but as described right here, Schrat are known vor their live performance and the possession of it. So it's not false to add some live material. Go on! Favorite track: Masken des Schweigens.

Meatbreak Primo old-school. Blistering pace and savage aggression offset by symphonic elements. Smells like 1995, and probably another one that should lead me back to Emperor. I hear some Sons of Northern Darkness in this one too.

A+ artwork on this one as well. Love a good moonlit ritual in the forest. Favorite track: Alptraumgänger.

Rich Kinman Schrat's been in my wishlist for a while. Listened to it just for a minute and knew I had to get it. Good band

The new album „Alptraumgänger“ represents the completion of a creative period, which took place over the last years. Simultaneously, the album contains a progressing journey into the past, which consists of two individual parts.
The first part contains new compositions which were recorded in the course of the year 2017 bit by bit. Stylistically the songs stand out by a stronger focus on aggression and sheer brutality, still always featuring the typical schraty flair: melodious, old-school, symphonic, icy-cold! The characteristic songwriting which already slowly developed on “Schattenwahn” and matured on “Artefakt”, rises with “Alptraumgänger” to a new level. The lyrics further amplify the impact of the compositions – Odes to the Schrat as personified revenge and annihilation as well as unleashing of the unconscious mind manifest with the musical eruptions to a nightmarish intensive atmosphere. Since live performance is
an essential part of Schrat’s concept, the second part consists of live recordings of selected songs. In combination with explicit traditional sound, those are the reminiscence to past rituals as well as a teaser to upcoming ones.

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon.
